Heidi Lyon practices employee benefits law with an emphasis on retirement plan and executive compensation matters. Her practice includes counseling employers, plan fiduciaries, plan sponsors, and service providers on designing, operating, and maintaining compliant employee benefit plans that attract, retain, and engage a talented and diverse workforce at a manageable cost. Heidi is currently a member of the firm's Management Committee and chairs the firm’s Professional Staff Committee that supervises senior counsel, associates and paralegals. She has previously served as Chair of the firm’s Employee Benefits/Executive Compensation Practice Group.

Norbert Kugele specializes in employee benefits and privacy and information security law. His employee benefits work focuses on health and welfare benefits and the administrative issues associated with them, including COBRA, HIPAA and the Affordable Care Act. Norbert is also a privacy expert who helps organizations understand and comply with state, federal and international privacy and information security laws, including HIPAA, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and breach notification laws. He counsels organizations on responding to security breach incidents, develops privacy policies, and counsels companies on the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulations and contracting for cross-border transfers of data. Norbert is a frequent speaker at seminars and author of articles on employee benefits and privacy issues, and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/US with the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

Stephanie Grant’s practice focuses on employee benefits with an emphasis on health and welfare benefits, including COBRA, HIPAA and the Affordable Care Act as well as wellness programs. Her experience provides an excellent platform for her speaking engagements and webinars, where she educates clients on the evolving landscape of employee benefits law. Stephanie is active in the community, specifically with the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund’s Name Change Project in Michigan where she works with area law firms to assist the transgender community in navigating the legal name change process.
